This programme brings together youth, women, religious groups, students, civic leaders, opinion leaders and elders from diverse cultural, geographical and economic backgrounds to participate in planned activities for a set period of time. The programme enables citizens appreciate and celebrate Kenya’s rich cultural diversity to overcome mistrust and cultural prejudices.
The Directorate has so far conducted the following exchange programmes:
- Youth exchange between Nandi and Machakos counties -April 2017
- Elders exchange between Mijikenda and kamba councils of elders – April 2016
- Youth exchange between Homa Bay and Nakuru counties -September 2015
- Youth exchange between Kisii and Kwale counties
- Youth exchange between Nyamira and Siaya counties
- Youth exchange between Narok and Migori counties
- Youth exchange between Narok and Uasin Gishu counties
